Allison Chinchar, a CNN as well as HLN meteorologist for CNN and HLN. She appears regularly in CNN's New Day Weekend and HLN's Weekend Express, as well CNN International. Prior to joining CNN in June of 2015, she served as meteorologist for regional stations located in Atlanta, Nashville, and Chattanooga, Tennessee. She's covered everything from blizzards to hurricanes, flooding events, and wildfires. She received the Emmy nod for her reporting of Hurricane Dorian that hit the Bahamas in the year 2019. Then she was a part of an event known as the Super Tornado Outbreak of April 2011 when over 350 tornadoes hit on the Southeastern United States in just four days. Over 200 of those on April 27th alone. Because of her training in environmental science she has also covered volcanoes, earthquakes and other natural catastrophes, in addition to news about climate change. Chinchar completed her Master of Science degree in Atmospheric Science from The Ohio State University. Chinchar is an active member of a variety of organizations, including The American Meteorological Society and Canadian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society.
